My brother and i went to order my mother's headstone. My parents are buried at an enormous Catholic cemetery. It is located on what was once a major east/west road across the west side of the county but decades go an inner belt highway was built parallel to it and industry has moved on ---where am i going with this? ..anyway, there are probably five monument makers within a mile of each other and near Holy Cross. We go to this smaller firm and within minutes the person/clerk/owner/guy?/one of those, draws up on computer a duplicate stone for my mom that mirrors my dad's half century old stone provided by the VA. Only $500, i thought it would be more but, Holy Cross charges - are you sitting down? $475.00 to lay it in the ground. Hopefully, it should be installed by my mom's birthday in mid May.
I still find more excuses not to do anything, then get up and go out. I look at this old picture of my sister, brother and me from 1967. I'll have to remember how to post it here.
The woman i work with and i have a little over 10 work days left in my building. It is my building now; i've been wandering around it for 10 years. Then I'll be moved to a new job i don't want and she may be cut back down to part time and lose her benefits.
Not sure what t make of the corona virus.
