Maybe, an ice storm-let. There is never a light icing, any ice storm is bad.

Somehow, our doom and gloom weather people missed this one. They spoke of a possibility of freezing rain, but that implies not much acumualtion. I haven't heard of any wires down anywhere but this is bad enough; the cars are frozen shut, so is the bird feeder! I tried opening it, but only cracked it, i dumped the birdseed on the ground and now i'm only feeding a fat squirrel.

EDIT: I guess looking at the news, some 80,000 have been without power.

'harry came down with the flu Friday night, she had a miserable weekend; she was able to keep some dinner down last night and went to work today.

#1daughter scored a "1" in the annual regional string contest over the weekend. This is her last contest because she is a senior. She, like #1son are not musical geniuses, but they are both very good, and care not a bit for it. I doubt either of them will ever pick up their instruments again after they finish school. #1son participated in one contest and pledged never to do it again.

Saturday, i stopped over at my brother's house to drop off a christmas movie that i may have borrowed for too long. My brother took me over to a neighbors house, two doors down. He introduced me to a retired gentleman who has taken up the hobby of stone carving. There are several pieces of his work in the backyard and we went into the workshop where he showed us his latest piece of work, which is a motif from a celtic cross, the three interlocking rings. He works in marble and i was just completely bowled over by it all. He has done one public piece that i am trying to find an image of on-line. You never know what's going on in your neighborhood!

Yesterday 'harry and i drove across town to see an outdoor production of Shakespeare's "Merry Wives of Windsor" As the director said before the play began, the "play was as close as Shakespeare came to a farce." a perfect show for a cloudless summer's eve.

'harry had to all but drag me out the door, and this was something i wanted to do. I'm becoming sedentary; i'm already a homebody, but i seem to be getting worse. The morning 'harry and i went on our trip downstate to see the s-bridges and other Ohio sites, i was crabby and sullen, after we were on the road for awhile, i was better, but the whole expedition was my idea. What is happening? I think some men do this in 'middle age' they want to stay and putter around the yard. I have to shake this.

Went for a bike ride this (Sunday) morning. The weather was warm with the right touch of humidity, so that i could feel the warmth bathe my skin as i rode. There were many wild roses blooming, bright white, along the trail. The air thick with the perfume, which was intense; almost too much, fogging my head, making my eyes itch and my sinuses clog.

Saturday, i stepped outside and noticed part of the garden fence was down. The deer had broken down the fence and bit off all my newly planted tomatoes; i was furious; throwing things around! I picked up some new plants and any chance of coming out ahead on my tomato investment is gone. The fence has been re-enforced; though as always, if the deer want in, they will get in.

'harry and i went for a walk in the woods behind us and i think i was chased by a baby badger. It was small, gary, and kind of flat looking; hissing at me and then it charged me! I didn't know what it was but did some looking up, and the closest i came up with was a badger, but i'm still not sure. What i found is that we are on the very edge of the badgers natural habitat.

Farther back on Thursday, i had that other job interview. Two positions are open and i would take one of them, over my new job that i haven't started yet. The hours are later evening into night and i would really love to not have to wake up to the alarm clock anymore. Even though the pay is not as good, there are more hours and again; i don't like to get up in the morning.

1) I'm looking out the back window and i see my 80+ year old neighbor, descendant of the pioneers has just gotten back from her golf game!

2) 'harry and i tried to go for a walk last night. We usually head off across the back lots, through the wood and onto the nature trail that runs that way. We often encounter some deer, mostly does and their young. Usually they scatter, though some are more aggressive then others. However, yesterday, we found a six point buck, that seemed about as big as a small car; and he wasn't moving. I tried throwing some sticks, but he just got a little closer and more intimidating. We went another way.

3)Hey, they offered me an extra hour or two a day, at mysuckyjob. Woo-hoo? Now i get to spend more time there; and it makes this job harder to replace because i have to find something comparable, before i can leave.

4) homemade soft pretzels!

cinnamon, or salt?
