No apologies this year; it seems the Christmas season has started. It's not just the stores but some folks already have their decorations up and running; which can be a stark contrast to those who still have pumpkin lights and witches on their front lawns. I admit that i put up a string of lights on our second story peak because the weather was warm, but i'm not turning it on until sometime next month.

I have four pie pumpkins this year, i'm waiting for the fourth one to ripen. I found a quicker way to cook pumpkin is to boil it instead of baking in the oven. I'm sure some nutrients are lost in the boiling, but if you save the pot liquor you can use that for something.

I finally got around to transplanting some daffodil bulbs yesterday. I found that it has been so warm that the bulbs are sending up shoots that are just now, breaking the surface. This can't be good for the flowers next year?

That's about it..

Seems i have not much to say lately.

1. The soap seems to have worked on the poison ivy, there is a spot on my arm that i didn't know about and it has blistered, but nothing horrible; so far.

2. We have a new member of the household. A bouncing baby kitten, who was living in a foster home. My first instinct was to name him "Don Knotts" and then "Spider" but these have probably been over ruled. #1daughter is claiming naming rights as she says she has never had the chance to name a pet.

pictures soon.

3. The garden is progressing, though i think i planted the peas to late and all there will be is greenery.
A racoon(s) have raided the compost pile which i put in an old trash can this year. I had a bungee cord holding on the lid but that disapperead last night along with choice, rotten, vegetables.

4. The temperature got somewhere into the middle 70's today with a mostly sunny sky. This is the most summer like it has been in days, weeks it seems like. Last week was, once again. cool and rainy.

5. 'harry picked up season one of Hawaii 50, season 1, from the library. We have been watching it nightly, (McGarret said "Book him Danno" for the first time, the other night!). It's a well made show that holds up after 40 years. That big black Mercury that McGarret drives around is very cool as is the theme song. 40 years, unbleievable!

That's about all for now.
