Here's some good news. #1son told us recently that after retaking calculus 2 over the summer, his GPA is in 3.70's. If this keeps up he can qualify for an accelerated Masters degree in Engineering which could shorten his studies by a year.
Let me tell you brilliance. A couple weeks ago it was after midnight Saturday and foggy out, #1 came home and said he wanted to take pictures of his car in the fog in the woods in back. The people behind us had put up a gate made of two polls and a chain across the old drive that went to the abandoned lot behind both our houses. I asked him how he was going to unlock the the lock on the gate chain. #1 said that he would just unscrew the eye bolt attached to the poll then screw it back when he was finished; instead of picking the lock, he removed the door.
