One thing about depression and anxiety, it's great for weight loss. I guess some people eat but, i go the other way; i lost six or seven pounds in the last month. I didn't sleep much the night before mom's surgery between anxiety and having to be at the hospital at 5:45, i got about 2 !/2 hours sleep Tuesday night. Mom was supposed to go home Wednesday but they kept her until Thursday and Thursday was when the exterminator was due. So i had the last minute packing up of everything.
If you read up on bedbugs, what the exterminators prefer is an empty house. While that was not possible the barn is filled to the rafters with our live's. Most of it was on me, i did not get as much help from anyone in my family as i would have liked. That's what led me to having about 20 minutes sleep Wednesday night. Who wants to eat with conditions like that. So, i'm down to 181 lbs. There's a selling point for depression!

I don't think it's one bit decadent to go out to eat, although it can get a little expensive. But if you do it mindfully: not decadent. Everyone has to eat, and everyone has to have a job. Everyone in a restaurant has a meaningful job, not some idiotic job we'd all be better off without. You give them an opportunity to do it, plus you contribute to the community by being present in person, not at home in front of your big-screen television eating poppers. It's a chance for an interlude in a welcoming yet neutral space. I think restaurants and cafés are the best places on earth.

That last sentence puts a bunch of things together - your donut shops and cafes.
You say so much there, in the whole paragraph. You really are an excellent writer.
