That's a long time ago, when they stopped building them 8400 years ago!

Ackroyd mentions a megalith near one of the towns along the Thames, and near it is another, although it is a meteorite, not human-made, and spiritual ceremonies were practiced beside it up until recent times.

Isn't this a great site? There's so much going on in the Neolithic that we barely suspect, I think. Think how old Catal Höyuk is! and this predates it, by quite awhile, I believe.
