The Cleveland Catholic Diocese recently closed several old congregations because of falling attendance. Naturally these were churches in older neighborhoods, with beautiful architecture and fixtures. The church has put many items up for sale and i wish i had $10.000 because it seems to me the prices are very reasonable. Most of this is not "modern" stuff but 19 & 20 century neo-renaissance and baroque. Check out the stained glass windows (super cheap) and the statuary. I really want my own Pieta! http://www.church-inventory.com/

Wow, I though all that stuff was supposed to be Holy there for it would be sacrilegious to sell or own them. I guess times have changed.

Wow - I looked at it all. Awesome stuff. I hope it finds a good "home". The stained glass was amazing.

They should have waited - I hear that, with the Anglicans, business may be picking up.

It's a vicious thing, closing parishes like that, especially the older ones. And I don't know about Ohio, but any church out here built in the last fifty years looks like some version of a barn-- except barns are friendlier.
