Back at it today. The end result was a new budget priced, computer, because the price of repair didn't seem worth it for a five year old budget priced machine.

What's new and different?

The kitten is bigger and just as wild. I woke at a little past five the other morning to the animal, outstretched on his hind legs, challenging his image in the dresser mirror. #1daughter has settled on the name "Shamus" or "Shaymus" i don't know how it's spelled.

The garden is yielding peas and squash, the tomatoes are barely alive. Corn looks promising as do the onions. I'm not sure if i'm growing pole beans or Japanese beetles. My patch of dill sends out it's fragrance to the garden; i like the smell! I remember a market up the street from us; when i was very young. It had a great pickle barrel in it, probably one of the last of it's kind. Standing with my mother at the counter, while the grocer put together her order, i would lift the lid and sneak a whiff from the dill pickles.

There was a news story, that Ohio is on line to have the coolest summer, in something like, 125 years. I think that may account for the tomatoes struggling this year.

My children need to get back to school! They are tired of each other, #1daughter can barely stand being in the house with her brother. I come home and referee between them.

as you can see, same old me..

Yay yay, hooray you're back. I hope you have fun with the new computer. Was the old one a Dell? My sister says they self-destruct after five years.

I told you. Mini ice age.

The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul.

P.S. I think you should build your daughter a treehouse. Every girl deserves one.

P.P.S. Wow, you disabled non-friend posting-- that's how I found you in the first place.

Welcome back!

The coolest summer in 125 years! Wow! I would hate to not have a proper summer. It must be col for the tomatoes to not do any good.

Welcome back!

Everything in our garden is late this year because of the cool summer.

My mothers computer had a meltdown last week, while I was using it :(

It was a Dell and at least 5 years old.

You are back! Welcome - it wouldn't be the same without you.

Thanks for the garden report. I send empathy from my miserable patch of produce too. carrots and onions, nothing - basil is being eaten by some critter that clearly should go live in Italy! The only success is bush beans (Contender). They are doing so well I planted more.

Since I started full time, my kid has done nothing but sleep and play on the computer. I've lost all control.

School can't come soon enough. Hang in there xoxo

Awww, thank you!

Basil eating animal..hmm.

I hate to tell you, you never were in control.

you never were in control

Ha, ha - you're right about that!

Yesterday I went to water the bush beans and - I think the squirrel - had gone over the plants and pulled the beans off. They were not eaten, just pulled off the plant. HOWEVER the rotten beast eat the tops of the newly sprouting bean plants.

I love old fashioned pickles from the barrel. They sell pickles in a big glass "barrel" on the counters here - not quite the same, but it does feel slightly nostalgic (better than buying it vac-pac'd in plastic. :-)
