I spent a year as a substitute custodian at a vocational school around the corner almost 20 years ago. I worked two or three months total, but in that period, I contributed to the state's school employee retirement fund. About 15 years ago I cashed out my $200? contribution to the pension fund, but they still keep trying to enroll me in the dental program.
Is that the one you used to walk through the woods to get to?
Insane how the more and more "tools" we have for keeping records of absolutely everything, the harder and harder it is for anyone to make their way through them accurately. Fifty years ago, someone would probably just have crossed you off the list and retired your paper file, and that would be that.
My alumna status is actually legit, I was just--grandfathered in, I guess. It's a merger I wish hadn't occurred, but compared to some other ones that have happened recently, not as destructive... though it looks like it may soon become so.

And yet, easier for people to steal the information.
