Has her trouble gotten worse--physically, mentally, legally, etc.--since that last major event?
I wonder why they have that "no communication" demand in these places--I mean, I can guess, but I think it must be very very scary to submit to voluntarily. It was brave of her to do this; I hope it's life-changing in the best possible way.
