I'm alright, really.
Working a poem about grief but the pieces won't come together.
We have what they call float holidays at work. no one, including HR, really seem to know what they are. The agency acquired the float holidays when they took over another agency in Toledo. Yes, just like in the corporate world, non-profits gobble each other up. The only problem was that someone didn't do there homework and it turned out the the gobbled agency was several million in debt.
Originally, a few years ago they told us that we could use a float holiday on a day attached to another holiday ie. black Friday. At this point it includes birthdays and any holiday that is not recognized in the agency calendar. So, i requested December 21; no questions were asked, then again, no one cares.
The Red and Green* season approaches.
*I copywrite that.

Okay, and totally not okay-- I get it.
Poetry is hard, precise, and personal. Are you having a Solstice observance? The Red and Green Season makes "Happy Holidays" sound religious.

Found a non-profit, make all the money you can and pay yourself as much as you want.
I don't know how to have an observance. I guess there is something on the lake front every year, but 1. I'm not a joiner and 2. Lake Erie at dawn in December, doesn't sound like much fun.
And, from the photos i see, i don't really think i want to hang around with modern day pagans.
I'm not religious, not agrarian. So, what do i have? I have as little connection to Solstice as i do to Christmas. The holiday i know most is closer to what came in the J.C. Penny Christmas Catalog; toys, artificial trees and cardboard chimneys.
