Instagram or youtube threw Bamboo at me one day. I'm not a dog fan; i get annoyed when people start posting about their dogs or cute little pups on youtube but, i've become a fan of Bamboo the dog because, he rides a skateboard.
This presents problems for me because i know my cats think but, how much? How self aware are animals even, including the ones we hate or eat? Because this dog is thinking, he isn't just set on the skateboard, he pilots it. He knows when he needs to speed up, he can negotiate curves.
Maybe it's too much for a bunch of videos of a dog piloting a skateboard but it makes me consider the Native American viewpoint of personhood. Bamboo is a person.

Now I spent my YouTube time watching Bamboo. My favorite was when he passed another dog and the dog just stands still and stares over his shoulder in astonishment.

They're all aware, of pain and life and death, and relationship, and trust and betrayal. I'm quite sure. NOT sure how Native American it is, since every single tribe on the the continent seems to refer to themselves as "The People."
