Mail Pouch Tobacco sign, Cleveland.

My brother and I were driving around the city today - before the snow storm hit. First stop was to look at the burnt out remains of the old Dan-Dee Potato Chip factory, where my mom worked her first job. I took a couple pictures; not much to see. Later on we were coming down a street and I spied this, i asked my brother to turn around so I could get a snap. We guess the sign could be 80 or more years old. Don't know for sure. Mail Pouch is more famous for it's barns. I'm tempted to paint one on the almost-a-barn. Ah, maybe that's why I painted it black

I love the look of time passing in this picture. The old sign, the rust above the window, and the contemporary Private Property sign, which looks exactly like Private Property signs in California, and everywhere else, probably. I've seen many of those Mail Pouch Tobacco signs in old photographs. It would be fun to see an almost-a-sign on your almost-a-barn.

There are still a few barns around Ohio where they are visible.
