Back yard, June 7, 2012.

I came around the back of the almost-a-barn and saw this sprout of poison ivy coming out of the wall six feet in the air.

Poison ivy - scary and pretty at the same time! I'm glad to see you photographing again. This is very good.

Eeek! But awesome pics, joebanks. I swear, I'm going to do a garden post or two soon. I've got 5 houseguests for 8 days and life's been A LITTLE HECTIC lately.

No matter how many times I look at it, I always worry that I won't have any idea that I'm near poison ivy until too late. What did you do about it?

Thanks! Put everyone to work in the garden, that will clear out the slackers!

It took me about 5 years of getting it to finally learn to recognize it - usually.

That is such an interesting and odd picture . . ., especially the last one. Without your explanation, it looks like it grew straight up in the groove of the "almost-a-barn," then decided to sprout leaves. :))

So, I guess there is more of it on the other side?

No, i guess it did grow straight up the groove, there is nothing visible inside.

hmmm . . . , sometimes there's just no explaining the mystery and little oddities of nature.

Thanks for friending me. I've seen you around on some of my friend's pages in comments, so decided to check out your journal.

Love these photos - both of them. Something just a little bit strange about them (a plant springing out of a wall) and that's what makes them so good!
