My daughter's boyfriend asked for and got our blessing before he proposes to her. She knew he was doing this so, he's not surprising her but it was quaint and he was sincere he even teared up a little.
I don't know if I brought this up. This guy had his eye on her when she got her teaching degree several years ago but, she was dating "the clod". They were both taking education classes and knew each other but he didn't ask her out. One of them reconnected after she broke up with "the clod". A few months back they started dating, he lives in Delaware, Ohio, just north of Columbus, a little under two hours from her place. I think he is head over heels for her and we hope she is the same and not that she wants to be married. Or that she is the rebound because, she hasn't talked or with anyone else since her break up. Yes, cautiously optimistic, he seems ok, a couple years younger and that still makes a little difference in the mid 20's while she's 28. He and i spent an hour looking through a telescope the other night so, yeah, he's willing to do that. He's heavily involved in high school sports coaching, so community oriented.
