They always say Ohio is the U.S. in a microcosm. We are very divided between urban and rural. Though a lot of middle class suburban votes red. The old working class blue collar was pretty conservative too. I've always been surrounded by people i work with who are pretty far right, usually with the religious angle. Yet we used to send a decent amount of old line Democrats to congress - you know what really killed this country? Republican gerrymandering, sure Dems did it too but now it's locked in and every candidate that replaces the last is farther right or left than the last.
