Wow! My maple syrup ignorance is slowly clearing up.

Don't you have any sugar maples on your property?

I think the big one i had cut down several years ago was a sugar maple. There are a couple other maples on the property including a red or swamp maple and i am just glancig at an article that suggests red maples can be tapped too. Hmmmmmmmm.
