Found this (if you can read it) down in Amish Country yesterday. I didn't buy it because i can't grind it. At $2.79 lb, the price seems good. We'll probably go back in the Fall; if you want some and you think it would be worth it to ship, i can pick some up - if they still have it.

Otherwise, the Ohio countryside at 50 miles per hour.

Oh, thank-you! I don't have any way to grind it either, but you know, I'm pretty sure you can eat it cooked, just like that. Unless it still has hulls on, in which case it's all hopeless.

We eat wheat berries like rice, call them dzedzadz, but they may be a little processed too. A few months ago I found Bob's Red Mill farro at the store, which is EMMER wheat, the other ancient protowheat, and bought some; we loved it, but when I went back for more, of course they'd stopped carrying it. I might put together a Bob's order at some point, but fifty dollars is a lot of grain products for two old ladies.

I never thought, all those years ago when I was reading The Uruk Countryside, that I'd actually get to taste emmer and einkorn.

The landscape is beautiful! The Ohio Countryside.

I think bulghur is normally cracked and parboiled. We eat a lot of that too.

If you get it and try it, I'll be interested to hear.
