I woke today knowing I'd have to go to the bank the get money to buy some gas for the snow blower because we are supposed to be getting a measureable amount of snow. I tried to put the gas can in the trunk but the trunk is still froze shut from the glaze of ice we got a couple days ago. Gas can up front, I drove to the bank; had to go inside because, the window will not roll down - also frozen. Done at bank, I head back to gas station, and buy my gas; I try the trunk again, almost get it but, it will not open. I sit down inside car - OH! I 've bent my key trying to open the trunk. I'm almost ready to call home for help, when I get the key into the ignition and start the car. At home, the lock to open the almost-a-barn is also frozen shut; I get a lighter and thaw the lock out, while setting my gloves on fire only a couple of times.
Lights in my car tell me that the doors are not shut because they have ice in them; i have to watch that the over head light does not remain on when i get out of the car. It is 20 degrees now, it's not supposed to go above freezing until possibly a brief moment Saturday, so everything will remain froze.

I know - wah! wah! wah! Except the $40 for a new car key, that really is a Wah!

Feeling much better though, aches and pains are gone, just a solid head and chest cold - I can live with that.

Ugh. I have not had to deal with ice and snow. It does not sound very fun. A frozen boot and car window. I had not thought of such problems. Did the 'gas' can smell in the car? I guess you would have had to put newspaper under it. Or is everything so frozen you don't have to do that? That's a real bummer about the key, though.

I'm also sorry that you have to put up with a cold, too. I'm glad the aches and pains are gone. Head and chest cold, though? Have you got what I had?

Sunday we have very hot weather forecast again. Definitely beach/creek weather!

There was a little gas odor, if only I could've rolled down the window! It's kind of a snap shot of the downside of all that pictorial beauty.

I wouldn't doubt it's the same, the way things get about these days.

Think of me on the beach!

Happy New Year - your story made my smile. I can see your gloves on fire. Glad you are ok and ready for the snow. :)

"...on fire only a couple of times..." oh my! We had that freeze here and lots of folks lost tree limbs and had damage, but we were *knock on wood* ok and didn't have any issues.

Glad you're feeling better, joebanks.
