the oldest existing stars and stripes. Yahoo, Google and Bing seem to have let me down. They don't seem to understand my search; i get images and lots about Betsy Ross; but someone must know what is the oldest U. S. Flag still in existance. A great site showing the earliest images of the flag shows these two.

Chester County PA Militia Color (Battle of Brandywine) American; 1777 Sept. 11. This could be it, i don't know.

This one dates to 1781, though i read one article that disputes it and claims it dates from the 1820's.
Check this site out; very cool images, paintings etc. http://www.vexman.net/13stars/
But what is the oldest surviving United States flag? Anyone know anything?
