U.S. residents fight for the right to hang laundry
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20091118/us_nm/us_usa_laundry

Being in charge of, most, of the laundry in the house, i've always hung it outside as long as weather permits. One of the most spacey, touchy feely, bleeding heart, liberals we know, once suggested that it was a little trashy to hang out the laundry -hypocrite! I've always done it to save money and second the planet. I don't hang 'harrys underwear out but if you don't want to look at my boxers, close your eyes!

This just reinforces my belief that home-owners associations are pure evil. I've told my children: "Never buy a house goverened by an association!"

Nothing better for these folks to get upset about than clothes drying in the sun? I could see if they were hung up and left there forever, but this? Nonsense and foolishness. (But I wouldn't want my undies out there. Too scary for young and old alike)

I've ALWAYS hung my washing up to dry on the line outside.

Aren't they going on about global warming and pollution and scarcity of electricity? They ought to make their minds up!

You are right THEY ARE EVIL. CAMAZOTZ!!!

And I think clotheslines are beautiful. God forbid anyone should have to look at reality!

In my ancient childhood most people didn't have clothes dryers. I loved the look of strangers' clothes hanging out to dry. I loved that little glimpse into other people's lives.

I personally don't have a problem with it, and I hang my clothes out sometimes; however, I hang mine in my back yard - not out where people have no choice but to look at them. I guess I'll be the ass and say there should be regulations that control how its done (I don't want to see people's stained holey underwear in their front yard as I drive by - residents need to take some personal resposibility).

Granted, but what did it say; 5 states, STATES!, with laws forbidding and another 7 contemplating!
