No apologies this year; it seems the Christmas season has started. It's not just the stores but some folks already have their decorations up and running; which can be a stark contrast to those who still have pumpkin lights and witches on their front lawns. I admit that i put up a string of lights on our second story peak because the weather was warm, but i'm not turning it on until sometime next month.

I have four pie pumpkins this year, i'm waiting for the fourth one to ripen. I found a quicker way to cook pumpkin is to boil it instead of baking in the oven. I'm sure some nutrients are lost in the boiling, but if you save the pot liquor you can use that for something.

I finally got around to transplanting some daffodil bulbs yesterday. I found that it has been so warm that the bulbs are sending up shoots that are just now, breaking the surface. This can't be good for the flowers next year?

That's about it..

I just thought that maybe people need that Christmas cheer early.
I've never made a pumpkin pie from scratch like that, I look forward to your posts about it AND photos.

That was my thought, it's been such a tough year, get on with the holidays.

Oh, the pressure, of course you will have to take my word for what the pie tastes like!

My daylillies flowered last autumn, which meant they did not flower this spring. They must have known a thing or two as it has been a dry spring. I hope your little shoots don't get frosted.

Pumpkin pie...mmm...
