When I visited my mom on Thursday, before I got back to see her I was told a "funny" story about how she had been cursing at one of the aides. She wanted a pair of God Damned scissors so she could go to work on her pants because they're too small. Ignore the fact that none of her clothes are too small because she weighs 20 pounds less than she did a year or two ago but, I feel i have to apologize to the aide even though i know it's unnecessary, i know that aide is particularly fond of mom.
Several hours later i'm at work thinking about it and i want to say "Mom would never do that" Not that mom couldn't cuss with the best of them - she learned from her dad. Mom would cuss and swear around the house but she'd never direct it at someone like that; she didn't go off, in public. So, if mom would never do that, who is that?

Had an 18 hr horror story involving my eye. Wednesday afternoon, i wake up and am brushing my teeth. My now long, unkempt hair is still in my face and suddenly something is in my eye. I try to blink it out, nothing. Over the next 90 minutes i try pouring water in my eye, showering; still nothing. By the time i end up at the Urgicare it feels like it's a grain of sand. The Dr. looks at my eye, sees a scratch on my cornea and washes the eye with a thick antibiotic rinse. BETTER! It's out, the scratch is still there and almost intolerable but better than it was. I do a quick shift at work and go home and stay in bed with my eyes shut for 12 hours. Noon the next day, it's 90% better and by evening, nothing but a memory. All i have to show for it is a smeary antibiotic that keeps my glasses cloudy and an impending bill.
