I don't know what i've covered and what i haven't.

It all started out well enough; i was concerned about the tearing down of the old house in back. I've posted pictures of it, the red farm house that was built on the eve of the Civil War. The large dump trucks came and went hauling refuse away and ever widening my drive. I was all, self rightious, gung ho but, calm that i was going to make sure the Park System made took responsibility.

So that was my big issue in early summer. I did some rewiring in the barn and moved our porch light away from the door because, every summer there is a swarm of insects and moths and spiders and toads swirling in the light.

#1son went with some buddies - male and female to two amusement parks, Kings Island outside Cincinnati and then to Hershey Park in eastern PA. I worried but everyone survived.

Then they started a road repaving project which was supposed to take 60 days, they just finished. The way you repave a road for 80? days is to work on it and then go away for several weeks - repeat.

In late July, #1son says he got bit by a lot of mosquitoes at his girl friends softball games; a couple weeks later he asks what a bed bug looks like. Now my messed up lawn isn't as big a deal. I did research and called some numbers and what you have to do is wash and pack everything in plastic bags. If you haven't moved in more than 25 years, odds are you have too much junk - paperbacks i read inhigh school. My giant sidewalk chalk from when i was four (i'm serious) etc. This takes weeks to do.

Then a nurse discovers my mom has a large lump and suddenly the mashed up lawn or the bed bugs aren't as serious as they once were. Though the bed bugs are still a priority, now mom has returning cancer and is going to have a mastectomy on Tuesday.

Ok, ok, some good things. #1daughter got hired as a substitute, in a school district some 35 miles away. And, #1son has completed his first week at Cleveland State University and seems so far, committed.
They finished the road this week and the contractor brought in some new dirt and recontoured the lawn around the drive.
