We had a nice Thanksgiving. We drov e down to my daughter and her husband's apartment..an hour and 45 minute drive. She did the traditional everything, inclding some wedding soup and it was all good. I baked two pies, which i'm pretty good at myself.
I'm not always down and upset, it comes and goes; still a couple weeks away from another round of counseling. The thing i seem to be dealing with now is my isolation and that gives me time to think about things that are driving me down.
We got a little snow yesterday and it is very cold, 23 outside right now. But i think today will be back in the 40's. 50 miles east they got up to 15". And, Buffalo, who knows?

I made an historical pie. I won't be doing that again! I meant to post a picture but Fall has gotten away from me and now it's already December. I still might try. I'm down very low myself.
What were your pies? I'm not a pie cook normally but I gave it my best shot.

I am struggling to stay afloat from day to day. Sorry I didn't get back when I said. Very cold and don't get to typing when I mean to. Will try to send a message or email. Ugh, a pacemaker, 'hope she is ok? I've heard that can be pretty unpleasant.

You haven't answered though; what is historical pie?
This is personal, so you don't have to answer; have you followed all avenues of financial assistance? food banks, energy programs? Screw pride, if that is a barrier.
Other than they keep you awake through the surgery; her shoulder, front and back feels beaten up. Hoping this will help some of her health issues, besides the low heart rate.
Would you rather communicate through email?

Yeah, we could try email. Slightly more private, though it doesn't fix my too-cold-to-type problem :)
I have looked/am always looking at what's available. Pride and independence are an issue, as they are/should be for everybody. There's no giant relief out there: I don't need food, right now; I will need homeowners' costs. For these other programs, like you mentioned, there are often MANY hidden strings attached. I'll get the garbage discount, which is straightforward. And miniscule. The others are more problematic.
My neighbor, who's since passed on, said it was extremely painful during the awake surgery. And the doctors basically blew her off. And believe me, she was tough and not a complainer.
