Ticks and poison ivy is what i encounter every time i go out into the yard. I have had several ticks crawling on my clothes or found them where i changed or was sitting earlier. No bites yet.. It doesn't help that the abandoned house behind us has grass over a foot tall and growing. It's not just that the bugs are repusive, it's the chance of disease too.
The poison ivy is thriving and this is my fault. I've let the ground covers expand so there is less grass to mow and the ivy runs through the ground cover. I found an improved recipe for a homemade weed killer that is doing a good job.
If my children were small now, i dpon't know what i would do. I could probably scare them away from the ivy but what about the ticks? I wouldn't want to have to spray repellent on them.
