As it's fair week, i biked over to the fairgrounds to get a picture of the giant inflatable cow (she is anatomically correct).  This was about 11 PM.

When i got home and put my bike away, i heard what sounded to me like a wounded dog in the woods by the tracks.  I got out my flashlight and couldn't find anything, but it definitely sounded like a dog but it crossed my mind it could be an owl. I dragged #1son out of bed to call 911 if i got bit. He looks up in the tree and says "It's an owl"

1:30 AM, it's still making the sick dog noises.

Hmmm...sounds like you had a Barking Owl in your woods :)

Ha! I love that nighttime cow scene.

Lucky you to see the owl. I've only ever seen one. I guess I should start listening for them after dark and head out with a flashlight.

Maybe that was part of the owl's plan, to lure you into the woods looking for an injured dog, and then swoop down and eat you. Good thing you didn't fall for it.

I didn't see the owl at first - now I do!

Love that cow!

Hey, now I see it! I'd like to know in what tone of voice he said, "It's an owl."

And that cow is terrifying, even worse in the dark when cows should be asleep.

His tone could have been worse, considering i woke him up.

Look at the fence next to "it". This thing is two stories high.
