Looking through the jobs section and i find about 15 entries from someplace called "New Orleans Showboat". What the hell is that? I click the link and get: http://www.neworleansshowboat.com/ and it scares me! I guess one of these is going to open here. It looks like such a bizarre, packaged experience.

I couldn't get around the site very well, but what I saw gave me the creeps.

Fake New Orleans seems to be a growth industry, now that real New Orleans has been annihilated.

This has nothing to do with New Orleans; it's some kind of chain-theme-restuarant-resort, that will if anything, keep tourists away from you down there.

We NEED our tourists! We LOVE out tourists! :-)

So many here feel terribly forgotten by the rest of our country.

Hahaha - I don't think so. I had enough of that sort of thing at Dollywood.

I take it back-- I know well that you are still there; I just got this sense that Party/Mythical New Orleans is being spun off into a commodity, while real New Orleans is left to fend for itself, in the real world...
