This is the bottom of an old TV table that my dad built. I've taken the board and painted the top white for working on stained glass projects. My dad built lots of furniture back in the day - when it was acceptable to do something like that. He wasn't a great craftsman but he did build basic furniture out of sheets of wood. He built a record cabinet in the 50's, that looked like it. He also built a book shelf that i still have as well as freestanding open shelf. There was a couch that he made that my mom sewed fabric over foam rubber - the lines were quite chic. And then there was the TV table, he made that when we got a color TV; i think this was the year after everything went color; 65, 66? Of course this was when a TV was as deep as it was wide. The table has been out of use for 40 years, no one could throw it away but, what am i holding on to? So i unscrewed the brackets that supported the legs and i got a weird feeling; the counter clockwise turns i was making were reversing my dad's actions from half a century ago. I don't know..

Oh, i am scheduled for cataract surgery on September 19.

I have the neatest video that i shot that i would love to share BUT! Thank you photobucket, they have screwed EVERYTHING. Don't know if anyone knows but, photobucket suddenly changed their policy and are charging $399.00 a year to be able to share photos. I did not start uploading photos directly to live journal until the end of 2015. Every picture i posted on both joebanks and beoj before that time is blocked. Back to the video, i'm guessing i could post it on flickr but are they waiting to see if photobucket sinks or swims?

EDIT: Bedbugs!

EDIT, EDIT: Mom has a new lump.

EDIT, EDIT, EDIT: So it's August 11 and i'm worried now that everyone in the universe has vaporated. Or maybe some serious things have happened and i hope everything is ok?????

I just read story and saw we will have around 80% totality for the eclipse, i had no idea1

EDIT, EDIT, EDIT, EDIT. Mom will see the surgeon she had before, for a consultation next Wednesday.
Had my pre-operation visit with my Ophthamologist (yeah spelling, i know) he laid out the statistics. 1 in 3000 cataract surgeries result in "loss of the eye". 1 in 1000 result in a detached retina "very messy" - he said that twice, 1 in 100 end up in a nasty infection. How could i refuse! Any lens, except a plain piece of window glass (kidding) is not covered by insurance.

Bedbugs, this is a slow moving nightmare.

EDIT, EDIT, EDIT, EDIT, EDIT: So this granting access" thing is what we should have done, or are we staring over?

The thing about the bed bugs is that you are supposed to take everything - or so close to everything that you own and seal it in plastic bags. The guideline is, i guess, if there is a plastic bag big enough, put something in it. Take evreything out of your closets, your dresser etc. We have been settling here since 1990. Really i'm mad at myself for my attachment to objects. So, i got rid of my 1978 paperback of The Pickwick Papers" But i still have my giant sidewalk chalk from before i entered kindergarten.
