A couple days ago, i dismantled part of the play tower i had built for the kids, seemingly, not that many years ago. I took down the slide and the balance beam since these were the most decrepit parts; the main tower still survives though. A couple years back, #1son was using the slide as a launch for snowboard but even that has been awhile.

Of course, i had mixed feelings taking down even, part of the tower. The reason to do it now is that #1daughter's 16th birthday is coming soon and we plan a big outside party. 16! Unbelievable. Not that it's all fun. This summer has been a test; she constantly pushes her boundaries, and has a great sense of the perceived, injustices done to her by life!

I am ready for school to start, the kids are ready for school to start, why doesn't it just start.

Both have summer homework this year. #1son is not handling this concept well. "Night" is not what anyone would call light summer reading; #1daughter hated it when she read the book two years ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_(book)

We bought a corn hole set for the party and just to have around. I understand that not everyone in the world may be familier with corn-hole; it's basically a bean bag toss game; get the bag in the hole.

getting late..i should try and get a little sleep
