1) Nearly a week ago, #1son climbed to the top of our shed and asked what i would do if he jumped off. I told him something along the lines of that, that, would be a bad idea.
"What would you do..what would happen?"
Actually what he wanted to do was not just jump, but take a flying leap;
which he did.
He was surprised as hell, that he hurt himself! Only a sprain.
2) That's pretty much been how the week has gone.
3) I went on a job interview, where i was interviewed along with a competitor. The other guy mentioned that he was a minister. This impressed the interviewer greatly.
"You mean you've been reborn, etc. I can appreciate that"
Even though it turned out the other guy was more qualified, i knew i'd lost right there.
Yeah i'm sure, this bordered on breaking some laws, but, it was a part, part time job and not worth a lawsuit.
4) Hot and tropical weather, high humidity but not much rain.
5) Going through old pictures; #1says "You used to look happy, what's happened to you?"
I can't deny that i once had a smile.

What did happen to you? You were happy once.
Enjoy your tropical weather :)
It shouldn't happen that someone is chosen because of their religion, but the guy was more qualified anyway, so why worry about it? I do hope you get a more satisfying job one day, though.

I have had that situation myself, never actually being interviewed at the exact same time, but either right before or right after someone who could for some reason gain the upper hand on the interview. (One time it was someone "differently abled" physically who was interviewed right after I was, and another time, it was an ethnic competition, and the woman who came out of the interview before me was the same ethnic group as the interviewer, and NOT whiter than white caucasion like me.) I would have guessed our credentials and qualifications were nearly the same, but she was the minority, and I confirmed later that she definitely got the job. You are right, most times it is not worth suing over, especially since they could probably come up with any silly little thing to make them in the right. You will find something better. Believe in yourself that you will.
I am glad your son is okay. Kids, why is it they have to try to prove they are invincible, when invariably their silliness ultimately proves that they are not!? :-)

Well, when your kid gets hurt and the rest of your week is crappy it is hard to smile :(
And you are right not to bother about that part-time job it sounds like it would have been very aggravating, hopefully my last misadventure will make you smile, so next time you tell them you are a minister of Bokonon:

I hope you get your smile back.
I would look at the job in terms of...
You're probably lucky that guy was there or you'd have to hear about jesus all the time.
