My holiday playlist contains mostly songs I grew up with, some newer; sometimes now by a different artist then I first heard a song by.
Putting this together over the past couple weeks, I've realized how many of the so called christmas songs, are love songs and how many of those are atypical love songs. There is often a sense of longing or loneliness that is maybe a little different then the classic "pop" love song.
I'm tempted to add The Nutcracker Suite or at least portions. We had a cassette that we sometimes played at bedtime for the kids when they were small. I'm sure it didn't have the complete work, but was a well rounded highlights.
