We had the edge of a hurricane go over us as they frequently do. I found this neat map that goes down to street level to show that we had 2.19" of rain in a little over 12 hours. Only a couple miles away where my brother lives it was 2.89". The randomness is interesting.

The tail end of a hurricane is as close as I've ever been, and that was plenty.

Looking closer I found something more sinister; if you zoom into your house or any other building, you will find they - google? has exactly mapped the shape of every building; not just a rough outline but every little in an out of a structure's outline.

We've had a few drenchings and there was that one where we had sustained winds around 30 or 40 MPH; can't imagine 90 or 100 for hours.
