Came within, at most, a quarter inch of loping in off the end of my middle finger yesterday while using a hedge trimmer. I was being careless, though i will throw out there that these are right handed appliances. How i managed to only nick my finger is beyond me because a hedge trimmer is not a fine edged tool.
#1wife had her gall bladder removed July 3rd. Her mother is still in the nursing home waiting for her leg to heal - since February. Turns out her insurance has failed to pay for her first prosthetic leg and the guy who made it, understandably doesn't want to release her 2nd until he's paid for the first.
Mom's cancer has not reappeared, yet. All she wants to do is sleep now, weather that is from something going on internally or just her slowing down, i don't know.
If you look at my instagram, you'll see i've completed several glass projects this year. It's either think about things or go off into the almost-a-barn and work on glass, while the squirrels destroy the structure around me.

You could take up shooting squirrels, you know. And after that, you can come to my house and shoot squirrels. I always look at your Instagram.
Power tools *shudder* -- things can go wrong so fast. Thank goodness you were basically ok.
Sorry about both moms-- it's an awful thought, to just descend into misery. What an iniquitous system-- the leg thing is one step above a Flannery O'Connor story.
