Last night, after i got home from work.

I had seen on TV some people in upper Canada, where it was 30! below, taking cups of boiling water and tossing them into the air where it would turn into snow. I thought to try this with the temps 30 degrees higher. By the time i boiled the water i had changed into my pajamas and robe. There i was outside tossing mugs of hot water into the air in my robe at 4:00AM. Zero F. is not cold enough to produce snow, but it is cold enough to lure the idoits into the night!
*****
'harry and i saw "True Grit" today. Jeff Bridges is no John Wayne, but that is not necessarily bad. The movie was violent, humorous and moving, the way life often is; somewhat sublime really - really.

Look it that, January is almost gone; the days have lengthened slightly. For some reason i was thinking today, what a delight it would be to get caught in a chilled April rain

It is cooling down here, so it should warm up where you are soon :)
That would be amazing to see boiling water turn into snow, but it must have been cold trying to do it in your pyjamas and dressing gown! (And slippers, I hope :P )

I feel the same way about the date, and hubby, even in his less-than-healthy state, just noted, "Look! It's 5 o'clock and it's still light outside!" We're gettin' there...

I loved Jeff Bridges in True Grit - thought he did as good a job as John Wayne in interpreting that character.
